We produce original information via a global collective of writers and aggregate the highest quality content from around the internet. Our aim is to create, compile, and deliver one-of-a-kind articles, op-Ed, and thought provoking pieces about entertainment, arts, and modern life from around the world.
At Glitterazi we are a bit different in our way of doing things. Rather than attempting to enrich ourselves through masses of ads and paid product placement, our goal is to enrich the lives of our readers and the careers of talented writers. Social responsibility and honest reporting, which seem to be almost completely absent in modern media, are our two guiding principles. While this isn’t always the easiest way of doing things, being the best seldom is…
Our writers are a diverse group from all over the world, who may not always agree on everything. Of course no one view is more important than another, and censorship is forbidden. Glitterazi covers all the important and not so important topics affecting entertainment, arts, and modern life. Our writers being free to express themselves, tend to do it! If you want a one dimensional blog with a singular narrow focus, we have some recommendations, but Glitterazi is not one of them. Our Blogging Centre brings together the works of talented writers from all over the world, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Why have boring, when you can have Glitterazi?

Just close your eyes and listen. This is the Fantastic London four-piece called “Torches” with their track “Close Ups” a cover of the “Crushed Beaks” single which was released last year. By adjusting the pase and feel of the song Torches have created a piece of music which would not seem out of place on any established artists album. Its brilliant and cleaver mix of loud and quiet allows the listener to hear the lyrics emotion whist being thrown a musical onslaught later in the track.
Currently unsigned the band are looking for their big break and this could very well be it. With an album to be expected late this year or early next year they will be one of the bands to watch out for this summer. Undoubtedly appearing on many stages at this summers festivals. With fans like Django Django this group will not be stuck in other bands shadows for much longer as their sound is both defined and infectious. The deep throated vocals sound like a mixture between Editors and Hurts, and if you like either of these groups you will surely be adding “Torches” to your iTunes.
I would love to see what this group has to offer the live music scene and will try to see them over the summer. This type of mellow, dance, rock is very much popular now so surely big things are yet to come.
Check out more of their music here on their very stylish looking website. Enjoy.
You lovely people are in for a treat, this is the beautiful and wonderful sound of Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, with their track “Home”. I noticed this track when watching the trailer for the film “Big Easy Express” a film documenting the band along with Mumford and Sons, and Old Crow Medicine Show’s tour across america, on a one of a kind steam train. This songs lovable feel and love tangled lyrics portray a relationship in the early stages of a bosoming romance. It outlines the importance of having friends and family close by to help out when things get tough and support you in all that you do.
The Band themselves consist of twelve full members and eight people who help out form time to time. This generates a powerful as well as unique sound consisting of folk music with choir like vocals making you feel warm and welcome. Started in California in 2005 the band have moved fast and have quickly gathered a diverse and dedicated fan base all over the US. The UK is now starting to have their boarders breached and with the success of bands like Mumford and Sons and Fleet Foxes they will surely soon been appearing in venues very soon.
The track “Home” is taken from their début album “Up From Below” which is available now.
To find out more check them out here: http://edwardsharpeandthemagneticzeros.com/ Enjoy.
KAPOWWWWWWWWWWW! ARCTIC MONKEYS ARE BACK!!!!!!! “Are You Mine” is the latest release form the Sheffield foursome and GOOD GOD IT IS GOOD. This hard hitting offering shows a definite progression form the band drawing styles right back to the early days of “Who the Fuck are the Arctic Monkeys”, their début EP.
But more importantly the band have brought humour and childishness back into their style. This is an element that had been lacking in recent work as they opted for a more serious style, when all we wanted was songs about growing up and having a good time. If you like your music punchy, and packed fully of clever lyrics The Arctic Monkeys will be like a shot of pure alcohol to your system, waking you up to the reality that music is back on track.
Back to their best the video for “Are You Mine” also portrays a band just looking to bust out quality, fun songs to jump around to (and talk about how much of a douch-bag La Roux is).
Lets all hope that “Are You Mine” follows up from “Suck and See” and paves the way for another brilliant album. Currently Touring with the pragmatic Black Keys in America they are set to return to the UK over the summer. If your lucky enough to see them im sure it will be a night to remember.
If you want to find out more about The Arctic Monkeys go to bust some moves here. Enjoy
Have you ever had a song that is so addictive you just cant get it out your head? Well if you haven’t you will very soon. Miike Snow is a Swedish dace pop group formed in 2007. Surprisingly not one person in the band is called Mike or has the surname Snow but this doesn’t matter. Christian Karlsson, Pontus Winnberg, and Andrew Wyatt have just produce the sound for the summer with their track “Paddling Out”.Whether you want cheering up, a good dance or just simply want to listen to some good music this track makes you smile and tap your feet (and in these depressing times we need a bit of happiness).
If you love bands like Delphic, Django Django or early Calvin Harris this track is for you. I was singing the chorus so loud in the car today i think anyone looking on might have thought I was a bit “special” but you just have to with this song. It will make people who haven’t walked stand up and jiggle themselves all over the place lets hope the album out later this year will be also good as this.

After waiting and waiting and waiting Its finally arrived, yesterday on the 5th of March 2012, Dry The River officially released their début album “Shallow Bed”. The London five piece have gone from strength to strength and being signed onto Sony records last year has only fast-forwarded the laying of their path to stardom.
Being the lucky chap I am I got to see DTR twice in one day on the first of March. Before their incredible official gig at The Hippodrome I was treated to a very very special performance at Banquet Records. Myself and around thirty others were in awe as Dry The River played a complete acoustic set with no amps or microphones. Just about as good as live music gets (You can see videos from both gigs below)
- Bible Belt at Banquet Records, Kingston
- No Rest at The Hipordrome, Kingston
But not only this I had the pleasure of meeting the band and getting an advanced signed copy of their album four days before official release. It has since that moment not left my car, being played constantly on every drive. As you can tell from the picture below I was chuffed and for a twenty three year old I still think this is a little bit cool.
With stunning soft vocals, harmonies and anthemic sounds this bands bleak and beautiful songs show that hope can be found anywhere. With tracks such as “Chambers and the Valves” showing the importance of friends and just having a good time, contrasted with “Demons” and ” Lions Den” showcasing their darker side the band offers something for everyone.
I cant stress enough how much I love this band, they are everything and more of what every band should be like. Their album is perfect and I cant wait to see them again soon. Find out more on their website here and buy their album from Banquet Records here.
The sinpet of a track above is called “Lions Den” Enjoy :D
Davy Jones 1945 - 2012 RIP
Davy Jones was one of the fantastic foursome that was “The Monkeys”, one of the most iconic bands of the 60s and 70s. The flamboyant frontman sadly died of a heart attack earlier today at only 66 years of age. Always smiling and living life to its fullest and talk of a Monkeys reunion later this year, his life was a very busy one. Although his career choice was someone uncertain in early life as he tried his hand at a variety of occupations. Most notably at being a Jockey and an Actor, even appearing in a few select episodes Coronation Street. He did however eventually settle on being a music star, which I am so pleased he did. He truly was one of the greats and will be missed by all.
The below track holds particular significance to me as it was the first song that I ever loved and learnt all the words to. My Dad had it on cassette and it was played in our blue volvo 240 prity much on repeat for about three years, from the age of four to seven I was obsessed. Thank you Davy Jones for being so brilliant and bringing alot of joy and pleasure to so many.
Here is The Monkeys with “The Monkeys” RIP Davy Jones.
Before I start I cannot take any credit for this post. I was struggling to find something new this week so I asked the good people on Facebook to tell me what to write. I have to thank Ms Daisy Shayler-web for introducing me to this group, they are quite special. She’s an excellent, exciting fashion designer and you should check her out here.
If you feel its time for some Indie Rock and/or roll in your life may I introduce “The Spills”. A band if I am honest they seem to have been around forever with too little recognition for their work. Im prity sure I have seen them before but cant quite place where and when, but undoubtedly they were good. Originating from Wakefield, UK, and tipped by none other than the BBCs very own ”4, 6, 5, 9 The little white line” Tom Robinson (who was a fantastic substitute for The Coral at Glasto last year fyi) they are set to have a big year.
If you like your music with punchy guitars and soft deep vocals The spills are the band for you, If you like Tribes there definitely your vintage and without a doubt you will be purchasing a CD within seconds (If you haven’t already).
The Track above is called “Summer Vibes” and it is just a brilliant fun track to get you dancing and jumping around like a Duracell bunny, its off their album “Occams Razor” which is out later this year. Get listening to the rest of their back catalogue here and be sure to tell everyone to “bum The Spills” from now on. Enjoy
Well I need some good gritty rock in my day today and what better way to fulfil that need by listening to the fantastic “Waters” or Van Pierszalowski and Co as they are known. Originating from San Francisco Van P had little success with his previous band Port O’Brein and struggled to get people to listen. Waters is very much his last attempt to hit it big and from the sounds of his début album “Out in the Light”, everything might have finally clicked into place.
With growling guitars and broken vocals the rustic charm of Waters shines through both lyrically and musically. You could compare him to the likes of Bear Hands, White Strips and Feeder. Currently on a world tour and set to tour with Delta Spirit later in the year Waters will be very busy for some time to come. The track above is called “For the One” and is one of many tracks on their album that is just awesome.
You can listen to more of his sweet music here I know you will want more than this so you can also download a free copy of “For The One” there as well. GET ON IT.
